Local Lifestyle

Bracey’s community is small but close-knit. Locals enjoy the events and attractions that take place around the lake - this being the contributing factor to most of the things to do in Bracey! Locals flock to the outdoor life due to the popularity and availability of campgrounds, fishing tours, and watersports, as well as beaches and shorelines. Bracey is also the host to many fishing tours for those who like deep water fishing, and Lake Gaston has a family-oriented, year-round camp ‘Americamps’ – making Bracey a great destination for families.

The locals are kept happy with country clubs, resorts, and marinas, which offer more traditional activities and luxurious amenities for those who appreciate more than the simple life. With two golf courses, Bracey has some higher-end luxuries than other areas around Lake Gaston. If a quiet and scenic home base in an idyllic community is what you long for, then you’re sure to fit in in Bracey.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Bracey’s local delicacies are family and fun-focused, and they are casual at heart. Furr’s Deli & Dogs is a local shop that offers aromatic and tasteful homemade fresh country sausage. Their menu consists of a highly rated Ribeye burger, and their fresh pork chops are made daily with local meat. For a similar vibe, Shady Shack Grill & Flip Flops Bar proudly serves the community of Bracey and Lake Gaston and sits right on the water’s edge. This is an excellent spot to enjoy live music in the sun with a fresh cold beer from the tap.

For those on the go, Backyard Birds and Coffee is a coffee shop serving up hand-dipped ice cream, with local peanuts on top, and a delicious cup o’ joe in a relaxed atmosphere. This coffee shop started from a passion for bird feeding that began in 2014. Back then, Backyard Birds was a birding supply store, and the company has grown into what it is today - a spot for kayak rentals, binoculars, and plants.

Things to Do

On a lovely summer or fall day, the Rosemont Winery and Vineyards is the perfect place to savor luxe classic Bordeaux varietals or dry, crisp white wines. The Rosemont Estate is a 450-acre estate that has been in the Rose Family since 1858 when the farm was originally for vegetables, peaches, and beef and dairy farming. Rosemont has also homed many other crops, such as tobacco, corn, and soybeans, throughout time. Now it is a lovely winery in an early-American style building that houses a state-of-the-art gravity-flow wine production plant.

Dip your toes in at the Poplar Point Marina Boutique, a local boat dealership authorized for Nautique, Moomba, Robalo, and Hurricane that serves the Southeast region. Poplar point has been serving the community for a long time and has an adjacent boutique for the lover of beachside clothes.
